Why do I have the urge to blog when I come home from the bar????

So here's what's new:

Closed on the new house today; went to take care of some yard stuff. The yard rocks. The inside; not so much! I ripped off 1/2 the wallpaper in the kitchen. I've got a list a mile long of stuff we need to get that place in shape.

It's my birthday on Monday - we have a funeral on Monday in Sioux Falls, oh well! I went out with some neighbors tonite after we got home. Dairy Queen and the bar are not friends with eachother. I now know what Brent is complaining about when he gets a dairy tummy ache!

I get to miss work because of this funeral; good thing!

Brent had to buy a suit for his sister's wedding next weekend, hopefully we can pick it up from alterations before we leave for the funeral. Gotta get some major wear out of that investment!

I got two free really nicely framed and matted peices of 'art' for the new house - to make it look homey! they were on the side of the road - garage sale left overs. I've never taken anything from a free pile.

Shopping Sucks

As a woman, I'm expected to like shopping, but I don't. It takes too much time and I hate getting undressed in those tiny rooms. The worst part is, we are not done; we need more clothes for the wedding next weekend! Oh well, at least Brent got felt up - I mean measured- for his suit alterations.

Overwhelmed, frustrated, dissapointed.

Carnage & Creation

Carnage - that's brent's word for what happened at the races last night. Brent lost the whole side of his car, two tires, a bunch of front end suspension and other things yet to be determined. Carlee rolled her car right in front of the grandstand. The ambulance and/or tow trucks came out at least 7 times!

Creation: trying to get mother's day stuff ready, gotta get this in the mail for Brent's stepmom Nan, no idea what to do for the rest of the mom's.














On the top is a card for Nan, and on the bottom is a little 5x5" album with pics of us.
Look at the mess behind that card! Jeez!

Some words of advice

Ok, so not much is new - just work, house stuff, work, house stuff. The races got rained out last weekend - so we did nothing but lay on the couch all weekend. Oh, we did go to TGI Friday's - I had a coupon. I ALWAYS have a coupon!

So since I have no news to update on, I will post some lovely words of wisdom:

• Do not drink Cranberry juice before bed - or before work - or anytime that you don't need the 'flushing of the system' it provides! Darn it for being so tasty!
• When you are preparing for a crappy day - a nutella sandwhich and a candy bar will really help you face it. And don't screw around with "I'll eat 1/2 the candybar now and save the rest for later" bit - eat all of it - you deserve it! :)
• Along the same lines - don't go all the way to the gas station to get ice cream for your loved one (Hi Brent!) and NOT get some for yourself. You will want it bad and make your loved one share their's with you.
• Working on Friday's sucks. Avoid it at all possible costs if you can. Working fridays has really cut into my "mommy benji days" and my garage sale-ing time! Blech!

That's about all for now. Saturday is National Scrapbooking Day - did you know there is a day just for scrap nuts like me? If I'm lucky, I will get myself off the couch to do something creative that day.

Well, I just made the world's greatest supper (tato tots, breaded chicken and cheezy broccoli) and I didn't even enjoy it: I had to scarf it down in order to leave in time for this baby shower tonite. Grrr. I hate it when I don't get to enjoy the food.
I also just read that the greatest scrap website on earth is being sold - prolly no more message boards........... :(
